Believe it or not, I am teaching Kindergarten today. Actually, I am really looking forward to it....I am subbing for a friend and am excited to give it a whirl. I usually work with one or two little ones at a time, but today it could be up to fourteen! :) We'll see how it goes....I will probably have some fun quotes to write about after today - 6 year olds are very wise.
I read a fantastic quote this morning in my devotional time and need to share. It is by Alan Redpath, as quoted in Elizabeth George's book, Loving God with All Your Mind: in reference to Romans 8:28-29, "There is nothing - no circumstance, no trouble, no testing - that can ever touch me until, first of all it has gone past God and past Christ, right through to me. If it has come that far, it has come with a great purpose, which I may not understand at the moment. But as I refuse to become panicky, as I lift up my eyes to him and accept it as coming from the throne of God for some great purpose of blessing to my own heart, no sorrow will ever distrub me, not trial will ever disarm me, no circumstance will cause me to fret - for I shall rest in the joy of what my Lord is - That is the rest of victory." I am so encouraged especially by the line about everything needing to travel past God and Christ in order to get to me. It helps me to have new insigt into the level of control God really has and how much He cares about my life - past, present, and future!
Funny: I bought some pickle flavored gumballs for the kids at church recently and I can't get rid of them....I wonder why? :)
Blessings to you today!
:] So the kids won't eat the pickle flavored gum? :]
