One of the most special days ever.....

Today, September 2, is one of the most wonderful days of the year.  Why?  Because my niece, Alison Marie, entered the world on this day fourteen years ago.  In fact, I have "borrowed" this photo from her mom's facebook album....this was the house they lived in when she was born (Illinois).  I remember driving down when she was born and literally leaping out of the car and running inside just to see her for the first time!  She was, and still is, truly beautiful - inside and out!

In fact, I remember when Jessica called to tell me she was expecting.  We didn't know at the time if it would be a boy or girl, but had a sense it was a girl and Jess even had the name picked out - "Alison Marie".  It clicked immediately, and 14 years later, I still feel the same excitement every time I get to see her.  She is not only my niece, but has also become my friend and I am regularly blessed by all she has to teach me.  She is a true gift to me and I love her completely.  I pray she continues to love the Lord more and more each day - she is a true reflection of Him.

Happy Birthday, Ali!  Fully enjoy your day - I know that I am thanking God for you all day long and forever.
