Old and dear friends....

In the last few days I have had some special times with friends - friends I have had for 20+ years!  One was under sad circumstances, the other for fun.

On Friday I spent a number of hours in the surgical center waiting room while my friend had a lumpectomy....she found out recently that she has breast cancer.  It was hard news to receive and definitely scary, but there is such joy in knowing the Lord.  He helped it all to be bearable for us and I am thankful that I could be there to support this friend and her family.  It is really humbling to be part of this situation, but I am really blessed to have been able to watch her handle it like the courageous woman she is.  The doctors said they found it at the best possible time and the surgery was a success so far.  On Tuesday they will get the pathology report.  I am praying that will come back clear as well.

That same night I went out for dinner with two of my very dearest friends in all the world, Sam and Paula.  It is amazing to think that we have been friends since 1987!  What a joy to hear both of them talk about their kids and families and walk through Target with them, trying to decide what birthday theme their boys' parties would have and talking about which toys are the best and most popular right now.  :)  I remember having talks in college about whether we'd all ever get married and now they have four boys between them!  Very cool.

God is good and I am thankful for old friends in good times and tough times!

FUNNY:  Here's a question....how can Hello Kitty talk on the phone when she doesn't have a mouth?  There is a kid's pillow at Taret with Kitty on the phone....Paula wanted credit for this one, but I am the true author of this tidbit (good or bad!).  Blessings!

  1. Yep, I wanted credit for the Hello Kitty observation...you got to it first, though. It is always a blessing to be with you. You make me smile, laugh and feel encouraged. Love you lots.
