So how sad is it that I am sitting at my desk at school, on a beautiful afternoon, on my last official day off? :)
Actually, it's not too sad as I am thankful to have a job and one that is fulfilling. Just yesterday I had the privilege of speaking to Northwestern College juniors and seniors who are about to start student teaching. What a great time of sharing my faith and talking about the many challenges and rewards of working with special needs kids. I have to say though, that I had a "moment" when I looked out over the sea of faces. The professor that invited me to speak (Wendy) and I were college students together over 20 years ago, and we were the ones sitting in those seats, getting ready to student teach at Crown (St. Paul Bible College). Time flies by so quickly!
I also have to pay my principal a compliment. I just spoke with him for a while and am thankful to have someone at the healm who has the best in mind for our kids. He really has vision for them and wants to assume the best for each one - even if it doesn't always turn out as planned. That has really buoyed me up to start another year with hope for all of the students I work with.
So, here goes! Another year of fun and challenges. I am thankful that I get to spend my last weekend having fun with friends (celebrating a birthday at my favorite restaurant and going to the Mn State Fair)....lots of fun! I HAVE to try the group karaoke thing at the fair! So if you are at the fair, look for me singing my heart out at this exhibit! :)
Blessings!
Thanks for the updates! ;]
